Samuel Levy
-Cohort 6 alum, Cohort 7 JC
My name is Samuel Levy. I am 17 years old and going into my 14th and last year at Scheck Hillel. I grew up in the North Miami Jewish Community and can be often found at the MAR JCC. I have been swimming and playing water polo at the JCC Pool since I was in 3rd Grade. Last year I was fortunate enough to be part of Diller Miami's Cohort 6.
whyDiller?
This incredible program helped me grow and solidify my Jewish Identity surrounded by over 700 unique, pluralistic, and interesting teen leaders from around the globe. Last year, I learned to work with others in the unique, pluralistic Diller environment where I was able to participate in Tikkun Olam initiatives and discover the power of peoplehood! These connections even made it into the robotics program at my school, where I got to meet a visiting Israeli student from Yeruham, our partner community, who happened to be the sibling of a Diller alum. I was able to feel the true beauty of Diller’s international outreach and the connection to the Global Jewish Community through this encounter and many others. I look forward to continuing the exploration of my Jewish Identity and visiting Israel again. I am honored to be one of the Junior Counselors for Cohort 7, and to help the fellows have a meaningful and unforgettable Diller experience just like I did!
